The Wall Street Journal features Original Music Workshop for a third time.
Cairo Tessellation Components
Here's a snapshot mid-process in developing a Cairo-style tessellation field. More after the holidays...
Vintage Strata Tower Photos
Looking through an old hard drive, I came across these great Polaroid photos of a 3D printed model of the Strata Tower that we made while I was at Asymptote Architecture.

PINC.US V7
PINC.US has a new look, featuring full bleed images, a dynamic site index (coming soon), and a handful of subtle upgrades. There are still a few glitchy elements, but they should be resolved shortly .
Super Barge Schematic Design
We recently presented these preliminary concept images of a floating restaurant, bar, and event space called Super Barge. While the renderings look somewhat developed, they are really just quick sketches to get an idea across.
After a positive reception at our initial meetings, we spent a good bit of time researching the logistics and budget of fully developing the project. We're heading into a new round of development now, and looking forward to radically improving the design, particularly given the interesting possibilities we discovered while doing our homework.
Money Talks
Money Talks, our most recent project, is featured on the design blog NOTCOT.
Restaurant Stair at Original Music Workshop
Here's a construction detail of the restaurant stair at Original Music Workshop. It is a wrap-around, triangular plan staircase with multiple landings that is slightly cantilevered over the yet to be built lobby bar.
Money Talks
Money Talks is a herringbone patterned wallpaper we've designed that is made using one dollar bills. At just under $10 per square foot, the cost (excluding installation) is less than many conventional wallpapers. And the look, well, money talks.
OMW Lens Flare
Construction progress and perfect lighting make for a great afternoon at Original Music Workshop .
Site Maintenance
PINC.US is currently undergoing site maintenance, and much of its content is inaccessible. For the time being, please enjoy the redesigned blog, and check back soon for an updated design.
Original Music Workshop in 1935
This short film documents work at the National Sawdust Co. (now the Original Music Workshop) and the streets of Brooklyn in the 1930's.
Don't Worry, In Two Days Tomorrow Will Be Yesterday
Last night I attended Wolf Prix's lecture, "Don't Worry, In Two Days Tomorrow Will Be Yesterday." There was much to appreciate, but I was particularly drawn to his early work. I love this video of The Blazing Wing. The sound is glitchy, and in German, but you'll get the drift.

Michael teaches architecture with me at RPI, I didn't know he made amazing collages like this.

OMW at Night
I love this light filled, night render of our design for Original Music Workshop.
Chestnut Hill Farm
Today we wandered around Mark and Bettina's Chestnut Hill Farm in Monterey, MA and met some of the locals, including this stunning hen.
Super Bar/ge Logo Options
We're working with our friends at Mogollon on a graphic identity for Super Bar/ge, one of the development projects we're putting together at Arts and Leisure.
Cairo
Cairo is a new series of steel and walnut furniture that explores a recurring hexagonal pattern (see previous post). Elements include large and small display shelving, low cabinets, a credenza, and a room divider.
Recurring Patterns
We've been quite interested in repetitive patterns lately. Here's a nice recurring pattern system composed of – depending on how you see it – irregular, perpendicular hexagons, or rotated and mirrored pentagons.
